Commercial RO systems:
Commercial RO systems are light, portable and perfect RO systems with high-performance and capability. Their treated water output is between domestic and industrial RO systems.
Because these units use RO technology, they are also capable of removing dissolved inorganic materials, organic substances, dissolved and microbiological contaminants.
RO technology:
Reverse Osmosis is a special filter that normally causes water to move from low solute concentration (low or no salt) into a high solute concentration (high salt). In Water purification system, with the help of pump pressure, water moves from (high salt) to (low salt) part. This causes the separation of pure water from impure water, which is called water purification
RO components:
Membrane is the filter of Reverse osmosis and actually is the heart of the system.
Pump creates a force in order to push water from low solute concentration into a high solute concentration.
Pre-filter:
Due to the sensitivity of the membrane to suspended particulates such as chlorine, iron and so on in impure water, it is necessary to remove them before they catch the membrane. Therefore, water is passed through Pre-filter which is mainly PP and carbon.

Pre-filtration:
Pre-filtration is a pre-treatment process to keep the heart of system (membrane) healthy. This process often consists of three stages which prepares the raw water to enter the main unit device (membrane). It removes harmful materials, particularly chlorine. Chlorine is a very important factor in reducing membrane performance and its lifetime.
First stage:
PP fiber filter: This filter is made of 5 microns 100% pure pressed polypropylene. It removes mud, sand and other suspended contaminants.
Tissue structure of PP filter of system is so that larger particles are placed in the outer parts and finer particles are trapped in the inner parts. In other words, the density of filter fiber becomes more intensive from the outer surface to the inner surface. The Tissue structure of these filters leads to optimization of performance and increasing of Filter lifetime.
Second and third stages: The granular carbon filter and solid carbon
Activated carbon is produced from carbon materials such as wood, coal, petroleum residues and so on. Coal is prepared by burning of material in an airless space. This coal is then oxidized at higher temperatures to find a highly porous structure. The activation phase creates irregular channels and pores in solid mass, leading to a very high ratio of surface area to mass (500 to 1500). The activated carbon power is based to these channels and pores. Activated carbon is used for the removal of taste, odor, color, organic materials, Haloform, phenolic materials and chlorine.
Second stage:
Granular Activated Carbon Filter, it is composed of granular particles (sand-like) of activated carbon. It is used for the primary removal of taste, odor, color, organic materials, Haloform, phenolic materials, chlorine and organic chemicals found in insecticides and pesticides from water.
Third stage:
Carbon Block filter, It is used to complete the second stage and to remove the chemicals in water. Porous structure of the filter is considered to remove the highest level of Chlorine and toxins. The filter consists of two layers of polypropylene for the pre-treatment.
Housing (Tank) of 1, 2 and 3 filters are made of polycarbonate. They are sanitary, anti-scratch, anti-blurring are resistant to cracking,
When to Replace Filter?
Depending on the quality of the water, stage 1 filter is replaced over 3 to 6 months and stages 2 & 3 filters are replaced over 6 to 12 months.
Membrane: If pretreatment filters are replaced on time, they will work effectively for 2 years.
Advantages of Reverse Osmosis:
High throughput water purification
Easy to use and operate
Possibility of designing for different flow rates of water
Small size, compared to other filtration systems
Ability to remove minerals of water: anion and cation (Without a noticeable effect on water taste)
Good performance in many range of amount of water minerals
More Suitable and beautiful appearance than other systems
RO system operating tips:
Wastewater (condensed water) outlet should never be blocked.
No valve should be installed on purified water outlet line. Never block the way and do not put it under pressure.
If you need to transfer the treated water to a higher elevation, you may use a storage tank and a pump separately.
Prevent entering chlorine to your system by using carbon filter and on time replacement
You must replace pre-filters on time.
Control and record input and output TDS and waste water every day.
Reverse osmosis water filtration system reduces water pH a little. Low pH makes the water bitter. In case of the above problem, use a mix valve to mix some inlet water with the purified water.
It is recommended to use the anti Escalante to increase membrane lifetime and performance of the device.
